Kuching, 9 July 2024 – The KUUB Permanent Secretariat conducted a courtesy visit to the office of the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Innovation, and Talent Development (MEITD) of Sarawak. The visit aimed to present the strategic direction of UPMKB in enhancing higher education development in Sarawak to the newly appointed Permanent Secretary, Tuan Haji Adana bin Haji Jed.

The discussion also addressed KUUB's and MEITD's strategic plans for higher education in the Borneo region and the establishment plan for UPMKB’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. MEITD expressed its full support for UPMKB's efforts to strengthen the quality and meet the needs of higher education in Sarawak and Borneo.

The KUUB delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Shahrul Razid Sarbini, UPMKB Campus Director and KUUB Founding Chairman; Tuan Haji Fakhzan Haji Buang, KUUB Honorary Chief Secretary; and Mr. Noor Hakim Ahmad, UPMKB Administrative Head and Cluster Leader of Education. MEITD was represented by Tuan Haji Adana bin Haji Jed, MEITD Permanent Secretary; Mr. Donald Henry Nohed, Head of the Primary Education Division; and Mrs. Elvy Alfisa Binti Jamadi, Head of the Higher Education Section.
