The Citra Tari Nusantara (CTN) 2025 is set to place at Universiti Putra Malaysia Sarawak (UPMS) from Sept 19-25.
Organised by UPMS in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Council of Malaysian University Cultural Centres, and the Borneo Universities Consortium, the event promises a vibrant cultural showcase featuring traditional and creative dance performances.
This year’s edition will bring together 10 teams from Malaysian public universities and an Indonesian university, each highlighting the richness of their cultural heritage through dance.
Participating institutions include Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, Universiti Putra Malaysia Sarawak, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Universiti Malaya, Universiti Teknologi Mara Shah Alam, and Indonesia’s Universitas Borneo Tarakan.
Apart from the dance competition, the event will also feature community and cultural exchange programmes at longhouses around Bintulu, adding to the festive atmosphere.
“CTN 2025 is not only about preserving regional dance heritage, but also about strengthening ties between universities, communities and the creative industry.
“We welcome everyone to join us and celebrate this unique cultural experience,” the organisers said in a statement.
The week-long programme is expected to attract both locals and visitors, offering them the chance to immerse themselves in the diversity and colours of regional traditions.
